Mission

There are a dizzying number of chest radiographs on the internet; it shouldn’t be a challenge to find excellent images for educational presentations. The reality is once you search for the pathology you need you are presented with a frustrating mix of random image sizes, zoom levels, cropping, and windowing. They’ve been downloaded, compressed, uploaded, and re-dowloaded so many times that subtle findings are lost in the blurry pixels. Downloading images from your institution’s PACS has its own challenges, requiring multiple (though necessary and appropriate) additional steps to protect patient privacy.

The mission of ChestDB.com is to improve chest radiology education across the board by providing a database of full-quality, curated chest radiographs that educators can individually zoom, window, and crop in the way that best suits their presentation. Fast, easy, and free for educational purposes.
